1st, If you replace your stock CDI for a performance one, you really need to upgrade your coil as well or you lose much of the benefit of your new CDI.

  • You can manually adjust the advance after 8000rpm if you have a big bore too! It's simple to adjust, just turn the dial and go!

• There is a 26 degree range of Advance/Retard angle availavle if needed, 13 degrees in each direction. Most stock machines will not need to mess with the dial, the CDI will do its thing automatically!
  

• Get close to 1hp more from bottom end to mid range

.. .. (NOTE: A few machines use a "DC" type CDI. This will NOT work on those models!  . . . If you only have 1 wire going into the small "2 pronged plug" on your stock cdi, you probably have a DC CDI.

(A "quick check" - If you can turn your lights on with just the key in the "on" position but the engine not running, yours is a DC unit and this won't work for you but this method is not always accurate. Checking for one or two wires in your small plug is the preferred method if your manual doesn't state otherwise.)

MOST, GY6 150's can use this AC model but be sure to check your users manual and manually check your plug configuration before ordering. Because of the nature electronics, we can not accept returns on any electrical items. Sorry.) PLEASE check before ordering.
